You Don't Know The Sadness Of A Joker.

Top 10 Of 2010

Well another year gone and another year awaits more great music to come. As I said before, 2010 was an amazing year for Music. Most of all Hip-Hop. Last year was the best for Hip-Hop in many years IMO. I think 2011 is going to be just as good if not better too! We got Dr. Dre dropping “Detox” and we have been waiting on that for how long now? So that’s going to be huge if that actually drops. We got new music coming out from Kanye West, Jay-Z, Atmosphere, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and many, many more. So here are my thoughts on the last year.

Top 10 Albums:

[1.] Eminem – Recovery
[2.] Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
[3.] Freeway & Jake One – The Stimulus Package
[4.] Atmosphere – To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy
[5.] Pack FM – I Fucking Hate Rappers
[6.] B.o.B – B.o.B Presents: The Adventures Of Bobby Ray
[7.] Charles Hamilton – Tafietu
[8.] Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday
[9.] KiD CuDi – Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager
[10.] Lloyd Banks – The Hunger For More 2

[1.] Eminem – Recovery

When I first heard Shady was returning for the second year in a row I was excited as ever. And then when I got word that he wasn’t using the silly accents and shit on Recovery I was even more excited. Well some time past then we finally got the ”Not Afraid” single and I loved it. That got me even more pumped to hear the new album. So the day Recovery dropped I went out picked it up and listened to it the whole summer non stop. And the album still never gets old for me. So many dope tracks and on top of that Em finally worked with some dope outside producers, and that was pretty cool to hear Eminem on some other producers beats such as Just Blaze, Boi-1da ect. My favorite tracks off this are “Going Through Changes” “Space Bound” “Cinderella Man” “Almost Famous” & “So Bad”.

[2.] Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Again, when I heard Kanye was planning on dropping an album (with not every track full of auto tune) I was anxious to hear it. His first 3 albums were classics. So with a few album title changes and some new release dates we finally got Kanye’s Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy! And this album is just simply a classic from start to finish. Not really any skippable tracks for me besides “Power”.. reason being because I have heard that track probably 500 times since it got released lol. So yeah, this earns a number 2 spot on my list. This was also an album I supported. My favorite tracks off this are “Dark Fantasy” “Gorgeous” “Monster” & “Runaway”.

[3.] Freeway & Jake One – The Stimulus Package

Philly Freezer! Freeway dropped the Stimulus Package for us and what a package it was! The album is insane, Freeway and Jake One definitely work well together that’s for sure. Another reason this album was dope was because of its original packing its self. The album was made into a wallet and the money inside was the booklet and it came with a free credit card so you could purchase the instrumentals for free off a certain website. That its self was dope as hell. Best believe I copped this album as well. My favorite tracks off this are “Throw Your Hands Up” “One Foot In” “The Product” “Microphone Killa” & “Money”.

[4.] Atmosphere – To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy

Atmosphere returned last year with “To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy” and that was nothing less the perfect. Such a dope, dope album. The beats were knocking and the lyrics were there (as always!) Definitely one of the most played albums for me last year. I am a newer Atmosphere fan, became a fan back in 2008 when my friend told me to check out “When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold” and that was my favorite album of 2008! So after I checked Atmosphere’s older shit I just became a bigger and bigger fan after each project I checked. Now I’m looking forward to their 2011 project dropping sometime in April. My favorite tracks off this are “The Major Leagues” “Scalp” “The Best Day” “The Number None” & “Freefallin”.

[5.] Pack FM – I F*cking Hate Rappers

This was actually the first album I heard from PackFM. Who would have thought it would have landed on my top 10 favorite albums of 2010? Let alone number 5. This CD go’s hard, start to finish. I recommend checking this album out if you haven’t already. The first track that came to my attention was “Happy Days” the sample was so dope and was just one of those songs I really liked. So that’s actually what got me into PackFM and made me check out the new album. My favorite tracks off this are “I F*cking Hate Rappers” “I F*cking like Everything” “Sire” & “Flux Capacitor” to name a few.

[6.] B.o.B – B.o.B Presents: The Adventures Of Bobby Ray

Bobby Ray has had a great year last year with his first solo debut. “The Adventures Of Bobby Ray” was an insane album with great singles. Again, another album I went out and copped the first day it dropped. I’m a huge B.o.B fan, first tape I heard from him was “Who The F#ck is B.o.B?” and that’s the mixtape that got me into Bobby Ray really. He has dropped numerous mixtapes for the fans over the years and there has yet to be one that I disliked. B.o.B is that dude! My favorite tracks off this are “Past My Shades” “Airplanes” “Airplanes, Part II” “Fame” & “Ghost In The Machine”.

[7.] Charles Hamilton – Tafietu

As we all know I am a huge Charles Hamilton fan, have been for almost 4 years now. This album got slept on majorly. This is the shit that Interscope should have put out, along with “This Perfect Life”. Charles dropped a lot of music last year and this one for me especially stood out. Just a classic Charles album, everything you could want really. And for all you CH haters, take your hate elsewhere. No reason to hate on dude, if you do not like his music, then simply ignore it. Some of my favorite tracks off this are “Telemundo” “The Right Kind of Brownies” “Stones on the Dancefloor” & “Laffy Taffy Outro (Anti-Hater Zone)”.

[8.] Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday

Wow, Pink Friday is Nicki Minaj’s first album ever. This CD blew me away really, she is single handedly the best female rapper out right now. She has a crazy buzz, everybody is wanting her on their album. She is killing fools with the music right now. I hope she keeps this up because the girl can make some dope music. Pink Friday is a great album, if you think other wise, listen again. My favorite tracks are “Im The Best” “Romans Revenge” “Moment 4 Life” & “Here I Am”.

[9.] KiD CuDi – Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager

KiD CuDi released his follow up to his first album “Man On The Moon: The End Of Day” This isn’t as good as the first but its still top 10 worthy in my opinion. Another album I listening too a lot last year. KiD CuDi is now planning on coming back this year with a new look. A rock album maybe? Lol we’ll see how that turns out. Music is Music though and I for one love music, so I’m sure he will be creative with it and make something cool. My favorite tracks are “Marijuana” “Ashin’ Kusher” “Wild’N Cuz Im Young” “Maniac” & “Ghost!”.

[10.] Lloyd Banks – The Hunger For More 2

Last but not least, the P.L.K.! Banks also released a follow up album to his first solo album back in 2004 “Hunger 4 More”. A lot of people saying first one is better this and that. I personally liked this one better though. I know his first one is obviously a classic but this one seems to get more plays then the first. The bonus material is insane for this album too. Another album I went out to support. My favorite tracks are “Take ‘Em To War” “Father Time” “Celebrity” & “Sooner Or Later (Die 1 Day)”.

Wingspan is an amazing artists, and a great friend of mine. And when Nate (Wingspan) gave me the heads up this was in the works I was excited as ever to hear it. The first track I got to hear off it was “Good Morning NY” and after the first listen I knew we were in for a treat. And sure enough when we finally got Down2Earth it was noting less then amazing. Wingspan went in on this shit. My personal favorite joint off this is “Sky Status (Forever Over Heads)”. I had a snippet for the longest time and I played the shit out of it, when I got to hear the final deal I was blown away. Wingpsan is a new and upcoming Artists who is set to work with “Copywrite” and more dope artists this year. So keep an eye out for this dude, he’s truly one of a kind and has created his own lane.
